How the Global Church is Centralising Jesus as Missionaries of the Lord.<\/u><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/u><\/p><\/h4><\/div>

\u201cLooking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.\u201d <\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

From April 29 to May 2, the Global Episcopal Mission Network (GEMN), in collaboration with the Diocese of Honduras, held their annual conference \u2014 Missio 2025 \u2014 in San Pedro Sula. The theme, “Mission with Jesus,” emphasized what should always be the heart of Christians\u2019 missions: Jesus Christ Himself.<\/span><\/p>\n

The conference focused significantly on evangelism, reminding the global church of the transforming power of proclaiming the name of Jesus. Dean Amilcar Ortega, pastor of Catedral del Buen, shared from his rich ministry experience, stressing the need for Christ-centered outreach in local communities. GEMN President, Rev. Dr. Paul Rajan, built on this message by drawing from his cross-cultural mission work in South India and beyond.<\/p>\n

\u201cNor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.\u201d <\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

This truth is the heartbeat of conferences like Missio 2025 \u2014 mobilising the Church to preach salvation through Jesus alone. The call is not only urgent but eternal.<\/p>\n

The conference also addressed empowerment through the teachings of Christ. Canon Consuelo Sanchez, executive director of AANGLIDESH (Anglican Association for the Development of Honduras), spoke on initiatives aimed at uplifting vulnerable youth through education, discipleship, and hope in Jesus.<\/p>\n

Before the main event, participants joined a Mission Formation Program receiving training in the biblical foundations of mission, missional spirituality, and cultural competence. In a world in desperate need of truth, formation like this equips believers to proclaim Jesus with wisdom, humility, and power.<\/p>\n

As the congregation progresses with the edifying sermon series on \u201cJesus The Christ,\u201d they have learnt so far that Jesus came to reveal the Father, to reveal them to themselves, and are now learning about Jesus’ revelation of the Kingdom. Missio 25 and its theme for this year, \u2018Mission with Jesus\u2019, show that the global Church is drawing into alignment with the notion that the gaze must be fixed on Jesus, so that His Kingdom is established here on earth. The very fact that a conference like this was held in a country like Honduras\u2014a region often marked by social strife and political insecurity\u2014is a testament that the Church is living out Acts 4:32, with believers united in one heart and one mind.<\/p>\n

As Kingdom Ambassadors, they are called to be light in darkness. \u201cIn Him was life, and the life was the light of men.\u201d \u2013 John 1:4. The theme “Mission with Jesus” reflects a global hunger for the unfiltered Gospel, the good news that God became flesh in Jesus, lived a perfect life, died for our sins, rose again, and offers eternal life to all who believe. Jesus is the message \u2014 nothing more, nothing less.<\/p>\n

Missio 2025 was a powerful reminder that when the global Church keeps Christ at the centre, the mission remains authentic, Spirit-filled, and eternally impactful. Evangelism, empowerment, and even creation care all find their meaning when done with Jesus and for Jesus. Glory be to God.<\/p>\n<\/div>
