The Conviction of P.Diddy
Justice Prevails in the end
The most prolific criminal case of the year has finally come to an end as P. Diddy awaits sentencing October 3, 2025. Sean Combs popularly known as P. Diddy found himself in hot water in November 2023, when Cassie Ventura, his ex-girlfriend, filed a civil lawsuit against him for sex trafficking and forcing her to engage in sexual activities often called “freak offs” with male escorts while in a drug intoxicated state.
Though the lawsuit was settled out of court, it was only the beginning for Mr. Combs as other women filed lawsuits citing similar events of sexual abuse as Cassie. His lawyers vehemently denied these other allegations and called them false.
Other events followed such as a raid by Homeland Security in March 2024 of two of his properties in Los Angeles. Though no charges were made, firearms, drugs and electronic devices were retrieved from his properties as evidence. Also, in May 2024, CNN released a disturbing video from 2016 of Combs attacking Cassie as she was trying to leave the Intercontinental Hotel. Combs responded to this video with an apology video, claiming “I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now”. However, this apology was not enough to prevent the storm that was about to follow.
On September 16, 2024, Combs was arrested following a grand jury indictment on two charges of sex trafficking, two charges of transportation to engage in prostitution and one charge of racketeering conspiracy. Before his trial, other individuals came forward with different claims against him and this led to his indictment being revised three more times to include these new charges, such as forced sexual activity, sex trafficking, and more.
His court trial began on May 12, 2025 and many witnesses were called on to testify, including a heavily pregnant Cassie, who was called victim 1, her mother, Regina Ventura, Capricorn Clark, a former assistant to Combs, The Punisher, a sex worker, and Kid Cudi, who had a brief relationship with Cassie in 2011.
The trial went on for over a month with jurors delivering a mixed verdict on July 2, 2025. Combs was found guilty of two counts of transportation for prostitution but acquitted of the two charges of sex trafficking and the charge of racketeering conspiracy, which carries a possible life imprisonment sentence. This conviction could see Combs in prison for a maximum of 10 years. Combs fell to his knees as the verdict was read and his team celebrated it as a “victory”.
However, Comb is far from putting the matter to rest as he and his legal team work hard to avoid time in prison. His bid for bail was denied on July 2nd as Judge Arun Subramanian said Combs had not provided enough evidence to prove he was not a “danger to any person or the community”. A source close to the rapper has claimed, he contacted President Donald Trump to obtain a pardon. However, based on Trump’s responses, it seems his request would be denied. The prosecutors have also asked the judge to deny Combs’s request for an acquittal or retrial on the prostitution related charges.
The P. Diddy saga draws to mind the verse Isaiah 47:10 You have trusted in your wickedness and have said, ‘No one sees me.’ Your wisdom and knowledge mislead you when you say to yourself, ‘I am, and there is none besides me.’
Based on the witness reports, Comb’s physical and sexual violence dates as far back as the 1990s. With no one being bold enough to stand against the music mogul, his wicked acts continued for decades, but not forever. Though wounded by Combs, Cassie rose up as a brave voice to expose the darkness that hid within his empire. Her courage inspired other victims to come forward and share their story.
Following the 40 day fast and Upper Room Prayer Conference, Kingdom Ambassador Center has been empowered and equipped to take dominion in all spheres of life. Taking dominion will not be easy as many will be forced to face persons or systems that intimidated them. However, as the remaining verses of Isaiah 47 show, there is one thing for certain – judgment will come upon those who deal wickedly. Yet, if a person avails themselves to God, He can use that individual to bring down the gavel of justice.
